Helophilus trivittatus is a species of hoverfly found in Europe and parts of Asia, with a habitat in wetlands, river margins, and flooded grasslands. These insects have a flight period from May to October and feed on various flowers. The larvae are detritivores found in decaying plants like Typha latifolia and Glyceria maxima. This hoverfly is also known to migrate in some regions.
