The Oedemera podagrariae beetle is small, growing to 7-12 millimeters long, and can be found from April to August. It feeds on pollen and nectar. The male has a black head and thorax, while the female has a yellow thorax. The elytra can be yellow, ochre-colored, or light brown, sometimes with darker sides, and the legs are partially or entirely yellow. These beetles are found in most of Europe and the Near East. There are several subspecies and variations of Oedemera podagrariae.
